
My afternoon fiber art class is pretty free form at Renzi Art and Education. I teach two classes. One with probably fourth through middle school students. And the other one is kindergarten through third grade. I call them the little kids and the big kids. I have one kindergartener that just likes to run around the class room wrapping the students and chairs and our big work table around and 'round with yarn. Like he's a spider and we are one big fly mass.
Last week we worked on making earbands from old t-shirts of Charlie's (see above for examples). I think the kids had the most fun tearing the fabric into tentacles to hang down the back. One of my students has been working on a project for a couple of weeks and he wanted to work on that. You can see the progress he's making in the photograph below.
